Since the dissolution of HIFA, there  has been a glaring gap in Harare for a premium creative event, in this case a visual arts event that connects visual artistic practices in Harare and beyond with local & global art audiences. Cheuka Harare Art Fair (CHAF) is a premium art event that brings together emerging and established visual artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts. The goal of CHAF is to celebrate creativity, foster economic growth in the local art sector, and offer a platform for diverse forms of artistic expression. CHAF is a project of what will be one of Zimbabwe’s specialized cultural events of importance in Zimbabwe that intends to, for the first time, focus and showcase the very best in emerging contemporary Zimbabwean art and celebrate some of Africa’s most celebrated modern and contemporary visual artists on the home ground that birthed them. We are putting emphasis on artist run spaces and the fruits they are bearing in accommodating and paving way for the new generations.
